As you may have already heard in the media, a press conference was held in Munich on Friday, January 10, on the topic of "Finally implementing fee relief for daycare centers for all Munich families."
Our technical director, Mr. Günther Hanel, also took part in this press conference as a member of the board of the umbrella organization Bayerischer Träger für Kindertageseinrichtungen e.V. (DBTK).
In his speech, he urged politicians and administrators to finally extend the unilateral fee relief granted in September 2019 to municipal institutions and institutions covered by the Munich funding formula to all Munich parents, regardless of which provider they use to care for their children. Mr. Hanel also referred to the more than 4,000 signatures collected from parents in the summer of 2019 during the "Fee relief for all" petition.
The press conference was very well attended and a great success. In addition to parents and operators of daycare facilities, representatives of the SPD and CSU city council factions also took part. The press was also well represented. As a result, there was a great deal of media coverage. All five Munich daily newspapers reported on the event. In addition, Bavarian Radio also reported on the event with statements from our technical director, Mr. Hanel.
