For years, children's eyes lit up when we collected and set up the numerous packages from our eight mini houses, thebilingual kindergarten IKC, and theInternational Bilingual School Munich atMINIHAUS on Tölzer Straße. This campaign has been running since 2015, with parents, children, and employees from MINIHAUS Munich, the IKC, and the ibsm enthusiasticallypackinghundreds of gifts for needy families at theMunich Food Bank. Although the campaign was unfortunately canceled last year, we decided to resume this beloved tradition this year.
The idea to support the Munich Food Bank came about nine years ago from the desire to look closer to home and do something good for children in need in Munich. The Münchner Tafel was immediately enthusiastic about the project, and since then, children from the MINIHAUS have been allowed to visit the Münchner Tafel every year during Advent to symbolically hand over the gifts. Of course, not all of them, because every year between 300 and 400 packages are collected during the campaign!
Among the needy residents of Munich who depend on food donations from the Münchner Tafel food bank, there are also thousands of children who lack many things that MINIHAUS Kids often take for granted: school supplies, toys, or books. With our campaign, we want to bring joy to at least some of these children during the Christmas season.
We would like to thank our employees, the children, and above all the parents for their tremendous commitment and look forward to receiving lots of gifts for the children of the Munich Food Bank. (ks)
